Its location enriches the town with a rich military history, from Edward I’s invasion of Scotland in 1296, to the Wars of Scottish Independence and the Battle of Flodden.
The museum is located on the site of General Monck’s headquarters in Coldstream Market Square. From here he marched on London in 1660 to restore the Stuart Monarchy. Artifacts on loan from the Coldstream Guards tell the story of the Coldstream Regiment of Foot Guards at home and away, from the 17th century to the present day.
