Ty Mawr Country Park is situated five miles south of Wrexham in the village of Cefn Mawr. Tŷ Mawr Country Park lies on the banks of the River Dee in the Vale of Llangollen, part of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Sitting underneath the Cefn Viaduct, Tŷ Mawr provides some of the best scenery around.
There are lots of farm animals you can meet at Tŷ Mawr such as sheep, pigs, and goats. You can even feed our free range chickens and ducks or admire Carlos and Pedro the Llamas, who guard our sheep from foxes. You can take a walk around the park by following the paths, or sit and relax by the river where you might spot salmon jumping.
If you are looking for Best place for day out with kids and families then this is the perfect destination offering fun, adventure, and unforgettable memories for everyone.
The sponsorship scheme was launched in 2006 and was set up to give the public a way of supporting the animals at Tŷ Mawr Country Park. As a sponsor you pay an annual fee for your chosen animal/s and in return you receive a sponsor's pack. This pack includes a personalised certificate showing the animal, the name of the sponsor and the date you became a sponsor.
You’ll be invited to a special sponsor's day, where you can meet your animal in person with supervision by one of our rangers. For example, if you are sponsoring a goat you can feed them on your visit or if you are sponsoring a rabbit you can give them a stroke and have your photo taken.
The park is open every day of the year and the animals can be seen during the day, in the special animal houses or in the fields.
