The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, operated by Lakes Story Ltd, opened on 28 July 1991 by the late Victoria Wood, a great friend and supporter of Directors Roger Glossop and Charlotte Scott.
The Attraction is the brainchild of husband and wife team, theatre set designer Roger Glossop and theatre producer Charlotte Scott, who over the last 30 years have lovingly grown and expanded the Attraction to include the Old Laundry Theatre, a Gift Shop, Nursery Shop, the Laundrama Studio, (used for theatre bistro, films, comedy, and peter Rabbit tea parties), the New Laundry Cafe and e-commerce unit.

Take a seat in our film room to begin your journey through the Attraction. The experience starts with a short film introducing you to the amazing Beatrix Potter and Peter, the most famous rabbit in the world.
Step into a magical world
The door opens to reveal Jemima’s woodland glade and through the trees you’ll see Mr Tod in Tommy Brock’s house and the pigs from The Tale of Pigling Bland.
Look out for Mr McGregor
Step outside to our Peter Rabbit™ Garden . You’ll see the cos lettuces that Benjamin Bunny nibbled and the gooseberry bush where Peter got caught in a net.
Walk through the stories
