Get closer to nature on a family day out in Hampshire at Marwell Zoo. It is home to hundreds of endangered and exotic species set in 140 acres of beautiful parkland. With plenty of outdoor space and activities, it’s a perfect place for all ages to enjoy.

You can see giraffes, tigers, leopards, meerkats, penguins and many more animals up close. Children can explore five adventure playgrounds and enjoy the Tropical House with colourful birds and even a sloth. There are also exhibits like Thriving Through Nature and Wild Explorers, along with seasonal events such as Glow Marwell and summer trails.

Adult tickets start from £26.08 in advance, child tickets from £22.48 in advance, and infants under 2 go free. Membership options are also available for year-round entry and extra perks.

Facilities

  • Food & Drinks: Café Graze, the Coffee Shop and our outdoor catering outlets are open.  Some outlets are seasonal and you will find more information here.
  • Picnic Areas: Guests are more than welcome to bring their own food and drink. Zoo have many picnic areas and plenty of seating.
  • Parking: There’s plenty of free parking at the zoo. Cars must be parked sensibly and Marwell Wildlife does not accept any liability for damage or loss to vehicles.
  • Changing Place Facility: Changing Places toilet facilities are different to standard disabled toilets, catering for people with profound and multiple learning disabilities.

  • By Bus: Stagecoach 69 from Winchester to Marwell Zoo (Sundays) & Stagecoach 69 to Fisher’s Pond (Monday – Saturday)
  • By Train: The nearest mainline train stations are Southampton Airport Parkway (7 miles), Eastleigh (5 miles) and Winchester (8 miles).
  • By Car: Zoo is situated just off the B2177 between Colden Common and Bishops Waltham Just follow the large brown tourist signs. If you’re planning a motorway route, then head off the M3 at J11 or the M27 at J10 (westbound) or J5 (eastbound).
  • By Bike: Closest National Cycle Route is number 23 (5.2 miles) and you’re welcome to leave your bikes on a rack just inside our admissions building.
