What to see

  • Animals: All around the Farm are examples of the usual farm animals you would expect to see, as well as some less common creatures. Animal welfare is of paramount importance here. The animals are happy, healthy, very friendly, and are looking forward to meeting visitors.
    • Cows: Different breeds can be spotted, including Friesian Holstein (the black and white ones), Hereford, and Jersey.
    • Goats: There are always over 100 kid goats on the Farm. Large goats can also be fed, nibbling food from a plate held by the visitor. Pygmy goats are small, cute, and love to play!
    • Poultry: Lots of chickens and chicks can be seen. In the Chick Shed, visitors can discover how chicks develop from eggs to fully-grown chickens. During the Animal Encounter Experience, there is the opportunity to see the chicks. Ducks, ducklings, and geese are also present. Poultry is available for sale to good homes.
    • Pigs: Numerous pigs are on the Farm, including Kunekune pigs, a small breed originating from New Zealand. They come in a wide range of colours – some plain and some spotted. They are very friendly and look forward to meeting visitors. Occasionally, there is a litter of little piglets to see.
    • Horses & Ponies: Two extreme sizes of equine breeds can be met: Pearl, the gentle giant Shire horse, and Chesney, a tiny Shetland pony. Both are very friendly.
    • Alpacas: A small herd of alpacas lives together in the back field. When it is cold or after shearing, they retire to the large barn with the kid goats. The alpacas are very friendly and enjoy meeting new friends.
    • Donkeys: Friendly donkeys live alongside the horses and ponies. They come in a variety of shapes, colours, and sizes and like all donkeys they have very long ears. Soft nose rubs and scratches behind the ears.
    • Guinea Pigs: In the Guinea Pig Village, small herds of guinea pigs live together in family groups. Often, there are many cute babies to spot as they trot after their mothers. Sitting quietly on the straw bales allows listening to the whistles and squeaks made by these charming little creatures.
    • Rabbits: A variety of friendly rabbits can be seen on the Farm, especially in the new rabbit area next to the calf sheds. They come in a large range of shapes, sizes, and colours, all with long ears.
    • Jeffery: Jeffery is a friendly tortoise with his very own house, where he spends a lot of time asleep. He is an African Sulcata tortoise, the third largest tortoise in the world. Jeffery can expect to reach up to the age of 70.
