The Photographers' Gallery was founded in London by Sue Davies opening on 14 January 1971, as the first public gallery in the United Kingdom devoted solely to photography. Situated in the heart of Central London, at the gateway to Soho, The Photographers' Gallery (TPG) is the UK’s foremost centre for the presentation.

Exploration of photography in all its forms and home to an international community of photographers. TPG presents a diverse and critically acclaimed programme of exhibitions, events, talks, workshops and courses, as well as offering a unique, specialist bookshop, a dedicated space for the discovery and sale of photo prints and a café.

  • The Photographers' Gallery Archive: Workshop: A practical guide to Digitisation and Cataloguing - Saturday 11 April at The Photographers' Gallery - A one-day practical workshop to introduce what you need to know when digitising and cataloguing any type of film or paper-based material. Even though The Photographers' Gallery Archive does not have a photographic collection, our Archive is a free resource to dig into the rich and varied past of The Photographers’ Gallery and to support future learning about photography.
  • Photography Culture: Photography Culture is a resource for the exploration of photography in a wider context. From interviews and discussions with photographers on their influences and practices, to a multitude of reflections on the role of photography and its relationship to other art forms, through to radical new thinking and research into the changing shape of the medium in a digital age.  You can explore content through format, category or through a range of specially curated themes which propose edited perspectives on photography's relationship to art and culture.
