Stonetrail Riding Centre is based at Street Farm on the A683 midway between the towns of Sedbergh and Kirkby Stephen. We are are approximatley 2 miles from the picture postcard village of Ravenstonedale.
The location is a horse riders dream. We are situated at the foot of Wild Boar fell with direct access from our gate onto some of the most scenic bridleways in the North of England. We have a variety of circular routes lasting from 2 hours to several days, the majority of which is spent riding the grass tracks across open common, up and over the top of the fells or following historic bridleways which follow rivers through beautiful unspoilt valleys.
Since 2008 we have been helping make precious holiday memories for hundreds of riders, many of whom return year after year to experience the wonderful riding trails and hospitality of Stonetrail. The whole area is very quiet and peaceful, and we often ride all day and hardly see a soul.

Join us for a ride
Stonetrail is situated in south east Cumbria in the Eden Valley, a landscape so special it has now been included within the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This is a place where you can still ride for several hours across glorious open fell and hardly see a soul. The rides are very sociable events designed for capable riders with experience of cantering in open spaces. Our aim is to create an experience which is as close as possible to what you would enjoy if you were hacking out on your own horse with friends. If you feel this is an opportunity you would like to experience but are unsure about your ability please get in touch and we arrange a date where we can provide more one to one support.

Bring your Horse on Holiday
The location is a horse-riders dream with an extensive network of well-maintained bridleways, offering a variety of route choices to suit everyone. We have short routes, long routes, flat routes, more challenging routes across the tops of the fells, as well as our very popular ride to the village pub! We are fortunate to have direct access from our gate to an extensive network of bridleways where you can still ride all day and hardly see a soul. The routes are a mixture of old green lanes across open common where you can enjoy a good canter, lovely bridleways through the valley, all surrounded by stunning scenery. Any road work is along very quiet, single-track lanes, many of which are unfenced. Any farm traffic we do meet is generally slow-moving and considerate for horses and riders.
