Ilfracombe Sea Safari is the original sea safari company in Ilfracombe, offering thrilling boat rides and guided coastal tours. It provides a fun, adventurous, and educational way to explore the natural beauty of the North Devon coast. Trips depart from Ilfracombe Harbour and are tailored to provide a safe and enjoyable experience.

Visitors can choose from a range of safaris including a 1-hour Sea Safari, Sunset Safari, Waterfall, Seal & Exmoor Safari to Lynmouth, Seals & Lighthouse Safari, and Smugglers Caves, Seals & Lighthouse trip. Longer experiences include the Lundy Experience for wildlife spotting and the Lundy Shuttle service to explore the island. Private charters for up to 12 people and fishing trips (mackerel, reef, and deep sea) are also available.

Prices start from £24.75 for adults and £17.50 for children for the 1-hour Sea Safari, while longer safaris range up to £82.50 for adults and £62.50 for children for the Lundy Experience. Private charters begin from £250.00 per hour.

1hr Sea Safari: Sea safari along the North Devon coast going either East or West seeing areas of outstanding natural beauty. Embarking from Ilfracombe Harbour, our 1-hour RIB cruise will head inshore typically in either an eastern or a western direction, depending on the conditions of the day. Both are equally picturesque, but ensuring you have the safest and most enjoyable trip possible is our number one priority, and we aim to tailor our trips to you, our customers, as much as we possibly can.
Sunset Safari: Head out on a beautiful 1.5 hour evening cruise to witness a setting sun over the Atlantic. As we travel along our crew will show you various points of interest and share their knowledge with you. Sit back and relax as we show you our beautiful coast in a whole new light.
Waterfall, Seal & Exmoor Safari to Lynmouth: 2 hour trip taking in Watermouth castle, Combe Martin bay, Greater Hangman and The Valley of the Rocks. We pass Sheracombe Waterfall which was used in the war by German U boats as a source of fresh water then on past the mare and colt, black stone point, Then pop in to the Seal colony before heading past Heddons Mouth to Woody bay where we find lots the nesting seabirds, Lee bay and to the magnificent towering cliffs of the Valley of the Rocks with Foreland Lighthouse in the distance.
Seals & Lighthouse Safari: Join us on a spectacular two-hour safari combining some of North Devon’s most stunning scenery and incredible wildlife encounters. Departing from Ilfracombe, we cruise along the rugged coastline, passing the famous Tunnels Beaches and picturesque Lee Bay before reaching the seals at Rockham Bay. Get your cameras ready as we continue onwards to the iconic Morte Point Lighthouse and into the breathtaking Woolacombe Bay.
Smugglers Caves, Seals & Lighthouse: Best of both, on this Safari we take you East & West to show the most of our spectacular North Devon Coast Line while making sure you visit all the top destinations on the ride of your life! Starting off we go West taking you all the way down to Lee Bay then making our way back to the East travelling all the way to Hangman Hills.
Lundy Experience: For the ultimate wildlife experience try our 4 hour Safari around Lundy Island. Join us as we make our way 20 miles west of Ilfracombe to Lundy Island in search of dolphins, porpoise and occasionally whales before a close encounter with the Islands large Atlantic Grey seal Colony. All of this with the magnificent back drop of Lundy's towering cliffs provide plenty of photo opportunities and make for an unforgettable day out. This experience is on our Humber Ribs.
Lundy Shuttle: A shuttle service to the magnificent Island of Lundy. Departing Ilfracombe around 8am/9am and pick up around 5pm. Ilfracombe Sea Safaris now offers a shuttle service to the magnificent Island of Lundy. Departing Ilfracombe around 8am/9am and with the crossing taking around an hour. This giving you lots of time to enjoy and explore the beautiful island before we pick you up around 5pm returning you back to Ilfracombe for around 6pm (times do change according to tides).
Private Charters: We can offer private charters for up to 12 people wether you want 1 hour or a full day. We can take you to Lundy island for a day, a cruise to Lynmouth for fish and chips or for a special occasion. Why not get the family together for a sunset cruise. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink on board!
Fishing Trips: join us on one of our catamarans for fishing trips, ranging from 1.5hr Mackerel, 2hr Reef, and 4 hour Deep Sea Fishing. Suitable for beginners.

Facilities

Parking: There are several car parks in the vicinity of Ilfracombe harbour. Immediately adjacent to the harbour is the pier car park and normally parking is available there each day.
Toilets: There are toilets on board which we strive to keep meticulously clean.
