Browney Cottage, a traditional stone-built country cottage sleeping 4, is located 1 mile from the farm in the scenic countryside of North West Durham.   • Holiday Cottage: Browney Cottage is a traditional stone-built country cottage that sleeps 4 people. The cottage is situated 1 mile from Hall Hill Farm in the beautiful countryside of North West Durham, England.
  • Groups: Visits by groups are welcome by prior arrangement from March to December. Hall Hill Farm is the first farm in the North East to have been inspected as suitable and safe for school visits by the Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme (CEVAS) and has received the Learning Outside the Classroom accreditation.
  • Things to Do
    • Tractor Rides: Tractor rides around the farm offer views of the countryside, Highland cattle, black and white Jacob sheep, alpacas, and more from the trailer. Noisy bumpy rides are popular with children.
    • Bottle Feeding: Bottle feeding is available from late March through summer, usually held at 12:00 noon, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.
    • Baby Chicks: Sit on a straw bale and hold fluffy baby chicks while listening to their cheeping and observing them in the brooder.
    • Small Animal Handling: Hold and pet guinea pigs and rabbits. Animals are friendly and enjoy being stroked or brushed.
    • Feed the Animals: Various animals love to be fed, including cows, goats, sheep, alpacas, llamas, wallabies, donkeys, and ponies. Some animals are in an undercover area and will lick food from hands.
    • Playbarn: The large playframe is suitable for children aged 3–10 years, with a smaller area for toddlers and a pedal tractor area for under 8s. Seating is available for parents; a coffee bar operates during weekends and school holidays. Children using the soft play must wear socks and be supervised by an adult.
    • Barrel Train: Ride the twisting and turning Barrel Train, suitable for ages 3 and over. Price: £1.50 per person.
    • Adventure Play Area: Two large outdoor adventure play towers and one toddler tower are available.
    • Wonky Donkey Crazy Golf: A 9-hole crazy golf course is available at no extra charge. Clubs and balls can be collected from the Playbarn.
