  • Halloween at Drumlanrig: Saturday 11 Oct - Sunday 26 Oct. A frighteningly fun family day out! Step into our spooky trail, team up with the Drumlanrig Detectives to solve creepy clues, tackle fun games and challenges, and top it all off by picking your perfect pumpkin.
  • Halloween Children's Craft Workshops: Tuesday 14 Oct - Tuesday 21 Oct. Celebrate spooky season with some Halloween-inspired crafts! Add a dash of creativity to your family outings by joining our Kids’ Craft Workshops. Bring the little ones along to the Larchwood Cabin for an hour of hands-on fun—where they can craft, create, and enjoy the magic of the season.

  • By Car: Drumlanrig Castle and the Queensberry Estate is situated just off the A76 (Dumfries to Kilmarnock), 17 miles north of Dumfries, and is signposted from the M74 (J14 southbound) and A702 at Abington and Elvanfoot. Just an hour away from Glasgow. We’ve been told that for some people their sat nav directions take them to a no-entry sign. If this happens to you, please follow the green signs that bring you back around to the Castle.  Postcode DG3 4AQ.
  • By Bus: The 246 bus service (Dumfries-Ayr) from Dumfries in the South and Ayr in the North via Cumnock, will drop you at the Estate entrance on the A76 (no service brings you to the Castle itself). The walk from here to the Castle is 1.5 miles through the beautiful Estate grounds. The X74 bus service will bring you from Glasgow to Cumnock. Then change to the 246 bus service (Ayr – Dumfries) to the Estate entrance for a 1.5 mile walk through the stunning Estate. Alternatively, you could take a local taxi.
  • By Train: The train stops at Sanquhar.  You would then take the 246 bus service south (Ayr-Dumfries) to the Estate entrance, or take a taxi.  Coming from Carlisle, you could take the 246 bus service north (Dumfries-Ayr) from Dumfries Whitesands, or take a taxi.
  • By Taxi: Murphy’s Taxis Tel. 07961977691 operate locally and will gladly transport you to the Castle (depending on availability). We would recommend requesting a price and booking in advance.
  • By Air: Easy access is afforded from Prestwick International Airport (A76) and from the International Airports at Glasgow and Edinburgh by hired car.
