Dean Riding Stables is a small, traditionally stone-built BHS & ABRS approved yard located in the peaceful hamlet of Dean within Exmoor National Park. The yard offers riding instruction for all ages, from tiny tots to advanced riders, with a selection of horses and ponies to suit most needs. Nervous and novice riders are especially welcome, and the Mix-N-Match sessions provide basic arena instruction and a short controlled hack for small groups of beginners or novice riders. Lessons are available as 30-minute (£25 group | £30 private), 45-minute (£35 group | £40 private), and 1-hour (£40 group | £50 private) sessions, with Mix-N-Match options at 45 minutes (£40 group | £45 private) or 1 hour, and group lessons accommodating 2–4 riders.
The yard features a 60m × 30m all-weather arena with coloured show jumps, offering training and show jumping instruction for competition. Riding hats are supplied, and progressive ABRS and BHS tests are available, including BHS Stage 1–3, ABRSITT, and other ABRS exams, which are internationally recognised and can link to Pony Club systems and professional qualifications.
