Whalley Spy Mission Treasure Trail is a self-guided outdoor adventure that turns the village of Whalley into a fun, story-led spy mission. Based on the fictional mystery “The Great Cheese Heist – Can YOU Stop the Saboteur?”, it challenges players to save the village’s famous cheese export. It’s a flexible, family-friendly activity designed to be completed at your own pace.
The Trail is a Spy Mission–themed walking route around Whalley, taking you past the medieval church, the 13th-century Whalley Abbey and Gatehouse, and along the River Calder. It follows a 2-mile circular loop and takes around 2 hours, with sneaky clues hidden on buildings and permanent features throughout the village. The Trail is suitable for ages 6–106, works best for groups of 4–5 people, includes a mobile text clue service if you get stuck, and offers a chance to win a monthly £100 prize draw.
The Treasure Trail costs £9.99, with one Trail booklet covering 4–5 people. The Trail can be posted to you or downloaded instantly, and it can also be used for birthday parties, following the standard Treasure Trails birthday format.
