West Wight Alpacas is a 23-acre trekking and alpaca and llama stud farm in Wellow on the Isle of Wight, home to Suri alpacas and woolly and Suri llamas. Visitors can enjoy walking with alpacas and llamas, spot behaviours like 'cushing' and 'pronking', relax in the café with light lunches, homemade cakes, and coffee, or browse gifts, homeware, and alpaca-themed items in the shop. Established in 2010 by Neil and Michelle Payne, the farm is an award-winning stud and popular tourist attraction. Visitors can also see miniature donkeys, chickens, pygmy goats, rabbits, ducks, and turkeys.

Farm entry is free with a purchased walking activity. Admission: £8.50 (children 3–14), free (under 3), £10.50 (adult), £9.50 (senior). Alpaca & Llama walking: £24.50 per person.

  • Alpaca and Llama Walking: Experience an up-close encounter with alpacas and llamas while walking across the farm, enjoying stunning views from the top. Knowledgeable guides provide insights into these fascinating animals, and visitors may pass the birthing field where witnessing an alpaca birth is sometimes possible. Children aged 8 and over can walk independently, while children aged 5–7 may participate when assisted by an adult. Children 4 and under can enjoy the walk but cannot lead an animal. Any child under 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult. A 2-person shared alpaca ticket costs £35 and includes farm entry.

  • Directions from Yarmouth Ferry: Turn right onto St Jame's St, take first left onto Bridge Rd, Bridge Rd turns slightly left and becomes River Rd, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto River Rd/A3054, continue to follow A3054, turn right onto Thorley Rd/B3401, turn left onto Thorley St / B3401 continue to follow B3401 and destination will be on the left
  • Directions from Newport: Continue on Forest Rd/A3054 for approx 10km, turn left onto Station Rd (opposite the Horse & Groom Pub), continue on Station Rd for 1km, turn right onto the B3401 and destination will be on your left.
  • Directions from Middle road: Continue on the Middle Rd until you reach Calbourne, turn right onto the B3401, continue on this road for approx 4km and destination will be on your left.
