Welcome to the We The Curious is a science and arts centre and educational charity in Bristol, England. It has over 200 interactive exhibits, is home to the UK’s first 3D Planetarium and hosts over 300,000 visitors a year.

Our building is full of play and surprises. DO touch the exhibits, DO get curious, DO bring the whole family. Across two floors, you’ll find over 200 interactive exhibits, creative activities and spaces to pause when you need a breather.

  • Main Gallery: Turn invisible, send a message into space, zoom out to the edge of the universe. Explore some of life's big mysteries in our Project What If exhibition.
  • North Gallery: Plant a seed, join in with food experiments, set a hot air balloon off up to the ceiling. Get creative with food and flight in the North Gallery.
  • First Floor Gallery: Learn to animate, build a ball run, see how much energy it takes to power your brain. Follow your curiosity through exhibits on sound, illusions, the human body and more.
  • Planetarium and Space Gallery: Set off on a space adventure, hear stories from ancient stargazers, explore new possibilities for humankind. Be inspired in the UK's only 3D Planetarium.

Visiting with kids:

  • Welcome desk: You'll find the welcome desk in the foyer on the ground floor. You can stop by on your way in or at any point during your visit and staff here can help with any questions.We have 10 sensory bags available, which are free to use and available on a first come first served basis.Each bag contains noise cancelling headphones, fidget toys, communication aids and are suitable for both children and adults. 
  • Exhibits: All of our exhibits are interactive, so you can enjoy them through play and using your senses. We’ve designed them with high colour contrast, large font size and English subtitles. The exhibits are low down so that everyone can reach them. 
  • Quiet Room: A peaceful sanctuary to take a break, calm and relax. There is hardly any sound and low level lighting and weighted blankets are available. 
  • Multi Faith Room: A prayer, contemplation and reflection space for people of faith and no faith​. Please speak to a member of staff if you need a hand locating this.
  • Visiting with little ones: We are breast-feeding friendly throughout including in our Quiet Room (other private space available upon request).

Facilities

  • Parking: Millennium Square car park is a safe and secure 24hr car park adjacent to We The Curious. Named by the AA as one of the best places in the UK to park your car, it is an underground car park, open 24 hours a day with on site security. Parking charges apply.  
  • Eating and drinking: Enjoy handcrafted coffee and freshly prepared food in the Double Puc Café, or bring your own lunch.
  • Lockers: You'll find them next to the Picnic Area on Level 0. You'll need to insert a £1 coin to use them, which you'll get back when you empty the locker.
  • Toilets and Changing Places: Toilets accessible to wheelchair users are available on every floor. A Changing Places facility is on the ground floor, just inside the entrance to the exhibition space.

  • Bus: We're just a short walk from many city centre bus stops.First Bus number 8 or 9 to College Green from Bristol Temple Meads station. From College Green walk down the side of Bristol Cathedral and We The Curious will be in front of you. 
  • Bike: Get your heart pumping and get on your bike! We're located close to the National Cycle Network. We have plenty of cycle parking and a permanent bike pump (for both types of tyre valve) just outside the main entrance. 
  • Walking: Wander down and explore your local area together.
