Features

  • The Courtroom: Step into our dingy 17th-century Edinburgh courtroom and face Judge Mental, who will decide your fate for your heinous crimes! But what exactly are you guilty of — witchcraft, drunkenness, having a baldy heid, or simply being from Dundee? Take your place in the dock and prepare for your punishment!
  • Witches' Judgement: Meet the Witch Pricker as they hunt down Scotland’s witches! Step into the interrogation chamber and defend yourself against accusations of sinister sorcery — because if you’re found guilty, you could be burned alive… and nobody wants to become a human barbecue!
  • The Torture Chamber: You now find yourself in the home of incarceration, humiliation and pain. Suspected witches won’t get away easily – the Torturer is VERY good at their job and always looking for 'volunteers'’ to test their implements on.  Preferably up that place where the sun don’t shine… and they don’t mean Glasgow!
  • Cannibal's Cave: It’s the 16th century and you find yourself creeping through the Bean clan’s foul-smelling lair to discover the leftovers of lost travellers. Have the hunters become the hunted? Will you escape, or become the cannibal’s next fresh meat?
  • The Anatomy Theatre: Medical science always needs a volunteer, so it’s a good job you just stepped into Dr Knox’s Anatomy Theatre! You are a 19th-century medical student here to witness the autopsy of one of Burke & Hare’s victims – Edinburgh’s most notorious serial killers! Be careful handling that bladder, it might not be empty!
  • Greyfriar's Kirkyard: Think you're hidden in this dark, misty graveyard? Think again Burke & Hare are on the prowl, looking for their next unsuspecting victim... At 7 pounds, 10 shillings a corpse, there's money to be made and they'd kill for a body like yours!
  • Mary King's Close: You’ll meet the Foul Clenger – or plague cleaner - as they tell you the true story of Edinburgh’s most famous plague close. You’ll learn how to spot the signs of plague – so look out for itches in your sweaty bits, or buboes on your pits. Is that just a cough you say? Too late, you’ll be locked away!
  • Castle Ghosts: Welcome to Old Craig House – where you will hear about and even experience a tale of love, loss, betrayal and DEATH. Elizabeth Elphinstone, better known as The Green Lady, is still said to still roam the grounds of Old Craig House - where she met her untimely end following a murderous betrayal.
  • Drop Dead: The Grassmarket Gallows: The crowd cheers and it's your turn to face the drop. The noose is ready as are the judge, priest and executioner. The thrilling gravity-defying drop marks the scary fun end to your Dungeon journey!
  • Edinburgh's Vaults: Quickly! There's no time to hang around, the streets are no longer safe. The only way to safety is to find your way through the Mirror Maze. You'll feel like you're going round in circles (clue - you ARE) - but whatever you do, stay as far away from the screams as possible. And watch yourself ! Ahaha!
