  • Awakening Seas: Explore over 4 billion years of ocean history, from giant fossils to Megalodon shark teeth. Take a journey down our timeline and follow the history of the oceans’ until the present day, discovering how life came to be on Earth. 
  • Lagoon of Light: The Lagoon of Light is home to an array of colourful tropical fish and large mangrove trees. Representing where the rainforests meet the reef, the lagoon reflects the diversity of aquatic life and unique habitats found in and around many of the islands and archipelagos in the western Pacific Ocean, from tropical North Queensland to the outer islands of Palau in Micronesia.
  • Living Reef: Head over to our Living Reef exhibit to discover some of the species that live among our beautiful coral habitat. Watch colourful species of fish dart in and out of their hiding places, and take in the textures of the different corals!
  • Endless Ocean: 2.5 million litres of water and 87 tonnes of salt make Endless Ocean home to some of the most fascinating animals in the sea. Representing the vast open oceans, this habitat provides a fish-eye view into the amazing underwater world of the deep oceans. 
  • Slime: Explore this bright and interactive area and learn about some of the animals who use slime to move around, catch their prey or create a poisonous mucus. Discover which animals use poison or venom, and the difference between the two. 
  • Changing Seas: Learn all about how climate change is affecting our oceans and find out what happens when changes occur to the water's pH levels. Our Changing Seas exhibit showcases the work of Dr Christina Roggatz, a researcher from the Energy and Environment Institute at Hull University. 
  • The Wreck: Our brand-new exhibit, based on the USS Kittiwake shipwreck, is filled with 150,000 litres of water and 5 tonnes of salt! 'The Wreck' tells the story of the vital global role artificial reefs play in enhancing marine biodiversity, restoring degraded habitats and supporting coastal communities.
  • Cool Seas: Featuring an ambient jellyfish room, immersive wave wall projection, interactive sandpit, and more, there's something for all ages to enjoy! This area also spotlights the inspiring local conservation work of Wilder Humber, a pioneering partnership with Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and Ørsted. 
  • Kingdom of Ice: Get close up to our colony of Gentoo penguins in the chilly Kingdom of Ice! Home to Gentoo penguins, the Kingdom of Ice area offers the opportunity to feel what it is like to live in the cold Antarctica climate by touching our real ice walls.
  • Deep Blue One: Deep Blue One is home to species which live in some of the greatest river systems of the world. Descending through the rainbow tunnel from the Kingdom of Ice, you enter our Deep Blue One area. 
  • Underwater Tunnel: Head to our Underwater Tunnel, and enjoy an immersive and relaxing view into Endless Ocean! Situated underneath our 10-metre deep habitat, look up and see sharks, rays and turtles swimming right over your head!

  • Parking: Onsite car park plus overflow car parks off the main roundabout. £4.50 for 5 hours or £2 between 6pm-6am. There are two electric car charging points in the main car park. 
  • Food & Drinks: Family-friendly cafés serves a range of delicious hot & cold food, snacks and drinks.  
  • Toilets: Toilet facilities available on every floor, including baby changing facilities. 
  • Picnic areas: Picnics are also welcomed; enjoy your food in our dedicated 'Picnic Plaice' halfway around the attraction or take a seat in the sunshine on our outdoor picnic benches.

  • By Bus: A Park and Ride facility is available from Priory Park, Hessle. This is 5 miles west of Hull on the A63 approach road into the city. It is signposted from the A15, A63 and the Humber Bridge. This service drops you off down Tower Street, just 2 minutes walk from The Deep.
  • By Train: Train times into Hull can be found via National Rail. Then, it's just a 15-minute walk from Hull Paragon Interchange to The Deep!
  • By Car: Easily accessed from the A63, The Deep is a 15 minute drive from the Humber Bridge and has on-site parking. If using a Sat Nav please enter the postcode HU9 1TU. This will take you to Tower Street, Hull, which is the nearest main road to The Deep.
