Features

  • ACTIVITIES:
    • Abseiling: A descent from any of the purpose-built towers and climbing walls. It’s a great activity for conquering fears and getting people out of their comfort zones.
    • Archery: Learn about bows and arrows, and the skill needed to become an archer, whilst trying to out-score your friends. It will challenge your maths skills, focus, and dexterity as you work out the best technique to succeed.
    • Bushcraft: Learn how to use your natural environment to survive. Working as a team, you will build and light fires using sparks and construct your own shelters. You will learn more about the natural environment around you, how to use it, and how to look after it.
    • Campfire: Get together with your group around the campfire at the end of the day to tell stories, sing songs, and toast marshmallows (marshmallows not provided). This is a great activity for getting to know your group members or discovering new things about the ones you already know.
    • Canoe/Kayak River Trips (Off-Site): This all-day journeying adventure consists of a scenic, relaxing paddle along a local river. This trip includes all the excitement of a canoeing or kayaking session, with the added pleasures of a picnic on the riverbank and some entertaining rapids.
    • Climbing: It’s about much more than just reaching the top. The purpose-built climbing towers provide a safe way for you to challenge yourself and conquer fears. You’ll develop confidence, learn to trust, and understand how to take risks—all in a safe environment.
    • Fenching: This is a very popular activity for groups of all ages. Learn the “en-garde” stance, lunging, parrying, and riposte. It teaches concentration, agility, and reflexes. Outwit your opponent and learn to understand how they think.
    • Geocaching: A bit like orienteering, but using modern electronic GPS devices instead of paper maps. Your group can cover half or the whole site using a set of coordinates to answer questions and find the cache hidden around the centre. This activity uses problem-solving and logical thinking. Groups go off by themselves and must work together as a team to find the best route around the site and retrieve the cache.
    • Gorge Walking: Travel the gorge with commando rolls, leopard crawls, and through a series of tunnels. Getting wet and muddy is all part of the fun. Sturdy footwear is a must.
    • High Ropes: Great for teamwork, conquering fears, and building character. Challenge yourself as you move to the next level, step outside your comfort zone, or simply enjoy a laugh with your group. Courses feature wires to walk on, platforms to jump from, poles to scale, and balance challenges all in a safe, high-up environment.
    • Inflatables: It can be quite a physical challenge on the inflatable obstacle course, bouncy castle, and big slide. Bounce, slide, and roll your way to a fun time. A great activity for young ones. (Not suitable for adults.)
    • Kayaking: Head out on the water, get close to nature, and enjoy the outdoors. This activity is suitable for all ages and is great for teamwork, communication, and building confidence. Learn paddling skills and have fun on the water.
    • Low Ropes: A self-supervised activity for groups who want to try something fun and different during free time. The course includes rope bridges, wire walks, and swamps—all designed to challenge agility and balance without the added height. Ideal for team development, communication, and trust-building.
    • Mountain Biking: An off-road biking session to develop technique and improve your skills. It combines fun and learning in a stunning environment. Improve your core techniques, balance, control, track stands, and cornering—whatever your level of cycling competency. (Not suitable for primary school-aged groups.)
    • Night Hikes: Explore open spaces and surroundings during a night walk. Walk around lakes, over hills, valleys, or through woods (varies per centre). While bonding with new friends and burning off energy, you can discover constellations, spot wildlife, and listen to the sounds of the night.
    • Open Canoeing: Learn the art of open canoeing in this exciting and challenging activity. Paddle along a lake or river as we guide you through the basics: paddling forwards, steering, using different strokes, stopping, balancing the canoe, and getting in and out safely.
    • Orienteering: In small groups, race around the centre and make quick decisions as you learn how to navigate using a map and natural landmarks to find orienteering markers.
    • Raft Building: Work in teams to plan, design, and build your own raft. Then take it to the water to test it. A fun, competitive activity to see which team builds the most successful raft.
    • Slacklining: Suitable for secondary school-aged groups or adults. A dynamic balance activity involving walking and balancing on a stretchy line tensioned between two trees or anchors. Like walking on a very thin trampoline!
    • Swimming: Indoor heated swimming pools suitable for all ages and abilities can be booked for residential or day visits. Play pool games for fun or team development, including ball games, races, or just enjoy a relaxing swim.
    • Water Walkerz: Climb inside an inflatable ball and have fun walking on water jumping, rolling, and diving. A big hit with both adults and children.
    • Wide Game: Battle it out over the hills and through the woods at Whithaugh Park. Crawl, sneak, or sprint into the enemy’s base, steal their flag, and return to secure victory for your team.:
    • Zip Wire: Zip through the air at exhilarating speed. Starting at the highest point, fly over the lake and through trees to the landing zone. With 300 metres of zip wire, there’s plenty of time to enjoy the breath-taking views—if you're brave enough to keep your eyes open.
  • Groups: Outdoor activity centres are ideal for youth group trips, Christian retreats, uniformed group activities, and corporate team building. Whether for a day trip or residential stay, we offer accommodation for both large and small groups.
  • Families & Individuals: Looking for adventure for yourself, your kids, or your whole family? Rock UK centres offer family adventure days out and holidays, kids’ holiday clubs, parties and celebrations, and activities for individuals including indoor climbing and mountain biking.
