  • Temple Mine: Temple Mine is a working 1920s lead and fluorspar mine, just across the road from the Museum. A guide will take you around the mine, providing an authentic insight into life underground.
  • Family visits: We are proud to operate our museum in the lovely little town of Matlock Bath.  We welcome thousands of visitors every year, many in family groups.  The museum is packed with artefacts and things to do to interest the youngsters in the group while also offering fascinating displays for the older members of the family too. This web site can only show you a little of what we have to offer, come and enjoy the full experience.  It’s best to allow 2-3 hours for the combined museum and real historic underground lead mine.  You should allow at least an hour for each.
  • Collection: The Museum cares for over 6000 objects. Many of these are on display for the public to see, but many are also in storage. Our collections can be divided into a number of categories.
