The Kelvedon Hatch Secret Nuclear Bunker, located in the Borough of Brentwood, Essex, was originally built as part of the RAF ROTOR air defence project and later converted into a Regional Seat of Government (RSG) during the Cold War. The bunker, which could hold military and civilian personnel, was decommissioned in 1992 when the nuclear threat was deemed less imminent. Access is from the A128 Chipping Ongar to Brentwood road at Kelvedon Hatch. If you have GPS then use CM15 0LA and look out for the Brown Tourist signs.
