Features

  • Skating Lessons: With the guidance of our experienced award-winning international coaches, you’ll soon be sliding round the ice pad, performing set manoeuvres and building up a record of your achievement as you pass each one of the 8 skill levels. These lessons will give you all the skills you need to move on to Figure Skating, Ice Hockey, or simply having even more fun.
  • Patch Ice: If you’ve been skating for a while, you’ll know exactly what patch ice is; if you’re new to the sport, you might have heard the phrase, but don’t quite know what it means. Basically, it’s time set aside on the ice for more advanced figure skaters who want to practice their moves with less chance of bumping into someone, and with the added attraction of the possibility of some one-to-one coaching from a qualified skating coach. It’s sometimes also called Figure Ice.
  • Ice Hockey: This fast and exciting team sport is played by one junior team and two adult local teams at the Ice Centre, Matches are played here regularly. Two teams battle it out to shoot the puck into their opponent’s net. Five players and a goalie on each team play at once, but a whole team can have over twenty players. The Centre also regularly hosts hockey training camps.
  • Curling: Starting any new activity or sport can often be a daunting experience…but it doesn’t have to be! Curling is an amazing Olympic Sport which is both challenging and fun….better still its a great way to meet new people and keep fit! The game is played on ice…(without skates) between teams of four…sometimes called ‘bowls’ on ice, but there really is a lot more to it.  Our qualified coaches will guide you along with the basics of the game and get you started on your way to playing stones and games.
