Birds of Prey: Icarus Falconry boasts a magnificent variety of raptors, including majestic Eagles, Kites & Vultures, swift Falcons, versatile Hawks, and enigmatic Owls, all featured in their hands-on experiences where expert falconers guide guests in flying these splendid birds.
Falconry Premier Experience: This hands-on session invites guests to meet, handle and fly a great range of raptors from owls to hawks, from vultures to our Chilean Blue Eagle or Yellow Billed Kites. Experience owls silently gliding to your gloved hand or experience the thrill of a vulture soar high above before returning to you for a light snack.
Hawk and Owl Experience: For those who love owls especially this is our most popular experience. This three hour session is designed to allow guests to get up close to the centre’s fabulous team of owls, ranging in size from the tiny Burrowing Owl right up to the Eagle owl, one of the world’s largest owls. Whether flying one of our woodland owls in a natural setting or working with one of nature’s top predators, and one of the centre’s most intelligent species; the Harris’ Hawk, we believe the Hawk and Owl encounter is a superb way to enjoy these incredible raptors.
Eagle and Vulture Experience: Our Vulture and Eagle experience is the ultimate raptor experience! Whilst birds flown will vary depending on the time of year each session will include birds such as a our acrobatic kites, our very biggest owls, Yellow Headed Vulture (believed to be the only one of its kind flown on experiences in the country), Hooded Vulture, American Bald Eagle and you may even get a photo with Zeus our Golden Eagle.
