Features

  • Discover Henry Moore: Henry Spencer Moore (1898-1986) was one of the most important British artists of the twentieth century and arguably the most internationally celebrated sculptor of the period. He is renowned for his semi-abstract monumental bronzes, which can be seen all over the world.
  • Henry Moore’s artwork: Moore’s artistic output encompasses sculptures, drawings, tapestries, textiles and graphic works produced over a long, varied and hugely productive career.
  • The Art and Life of Henry Moore: This exhibition in the newly-opened Sheep Field Barn Gallery presents over eighty sculptures made between 1922 and 1986, alongside photographs and archival materials from the Henry Moore Foundation Collections.
  • The Shelter Drawings 1940 – 1941: Our special display for 2026 focuses on Moore’s Shelter Drawings. Created during the Second World War, they are among the most powerful and widely recognised works of Moore’s career.
  • Sculpture gardens: With over 70 acres of gardens and rolling fields, see Moore’s world-famous, monumental sculptures as he intended, against the landscape he shaped.
  • Studios: Preserved as Moore would have used them in his lifetime, six studios reveal the artist’s processes of drawing, etching, carving and model making.
  • Tapestries in the Aisled Barn: A reconstructed sixteenth-century farm building, the Aisled Barn is the only place in the world to see Moore’s unique tapestries. Available to hire, and occasionally closed for private events.
  • Hoglands, the Moore’s family home: Hoglands was home to Henry Moore and his wife, Irina for almost fifty years. It now houses Moore’s personal art collection and the curiosities that often inspired his sculpture.
  • Henry Moore Archive: The world’s leading resource on the life and work of Henry Moore, containing publications, photographs, correspondence and exhibition material.
  • Families: There are endless opportunities to spark curiosity and get creative on your visit, with a daily programme of free, engaging experiences.
  • Family-friendly activities: From hands-on workshops and interactive sculpture trails to storytelling sessions and outdoor adventures, there are plenty of opportunities for you to explore Moore’s art in new and exciting ways.
