Description

Curious About Coventry is a self-guided outdoor activity that lets visitors explore Coventry city centre through two heritage walking trails. It combines sightseeing, local history, and an optional treasure hunt, making it a fun and engaging way to discover the city at your own pace. The walks are suitable for families, friends, couples, and visitors of all ages, including wheelchair users.

The experience includes two linked walking routes that start and finish in the heart of Coventry. Canal Basin to Cathedrals is a 1.5-mile (2.4 km) walk featuring the canal basin, medieval streets, Lady Godiva’s statue, and both Coventry cathedrals. Cathedral to Gardens is a 1-mile (1.6 km) route exploring historic buildings, the Transport Museum, restored cloisters, and Lady Herbert’s Gardens. Along the way, participants solve picture and word clues, follow maps and directions, and learn about Coventry’s people, culture, and major historical events.

Pricing is simple and affordable, with the Curious About Coventry booklet priced at £7.49. One booklet covers both walks and can be reused, making it great value for families or groups walking together. As the activity is unsupervised and outdoors, there are no time limits, and participants can complete both walks in one day or spread them over multiple visits.

Curious About Coventry offers a relaxed and educational way to explore the city while staying active. The treasure hunt element keeps children engaged, while adults enjoy the rich history and architecture along the routes. It’s an ideal activity for visitors wanting to see Coventry differently, as well as locals looking to rediscover their city in a fun and interactive way.
