Public River Cruises: Enjoy a 30 minute cruise aboard one of our traditional Edwardian passenger launches. Cruise downstream past the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church (the site of Shakespeare’s tomb) and upstream passing under the 15th Century Clopton Bridge. Our inclusive digital audio guides are available onboard to those that would like, providing you with an insight to some of the sites you will see on the trip.
Small Group Private Charter Cruises: Enjoy a cruise aboard one of our traditional Edwardian passenger launches ‘Swan of Avon’. The cruise will follow the same route as our popular public sightseeing tour on which you will enjoy stunning and unique views of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church as well as experiencing the tranquillity of the countryside, which the river Avon passes through as it winds its way towards Alveston.
Private Charter: Hire one of our fleet of passenger launches with crew for your own private use. Choose a departure time and book a trip for up to 1 1/2 hours. Our cruises are always popular for those wishing to celebrate in style or enjoy some time together in beautiful relaxed setting. We have a variety of traditional passenger launches. Our 3 larger, electric powered Edwardian launches seat up to 58 and our 1 smaller electric launch that seats up to 30. All of which have an enclosed rear saloon, and open front deck.
Gin Tasting Cruises: Enjoy an hours cruise on the beautiful Avon through Stratford-upon-Avon. See all the riverside sights including the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Holy Trinity Church, Shakespeare’s burial place, while enjoying a tutored tasting of the craft gins produced by the award winning Shakespeare Distillery, finishing with a glass of Gin & Tonic to toast your captain & crew.

Rowing Boats: Avon Boating have one of the largest fleets of self-hire rowing boats, in the country. Our large fleet of boats are lovingly maintained by our in-house boat builders and we are proud to watch people enjoying them throughout the season.
Self-Drive Motor Boats: Available on a first come first served basis. Our Motor Boats are perfectly designed to ensure a stable and enjoyable trip out on the river. They are easy to use and with only a little instruction, you will be able to go off and explore the Avon at your leisure.
Electric Launches: Elver, Otter and Flying Duck. Hire our lovely electric self-drive launches ‘Elver’, ‘Otter’ and ‘Flying Duck’ – perfect for an outing for up to six to explore the river Avon upstream from Stratford. Full instruction given, plus a map of the river.
Self-Drive Punts: Large Cambridge Punts for up to 12 or Traditional English Punt for 5. Avon Boating have one of the largest fleets of self-hire rowing boats, punts and canoes in the country, and there is nothing finer than enjoying the water from a traditional English punt.
Big Canoes Hire: Why not try something a little different that everyone can join in on with our fleet of 8 seater canoes! As stable as a rowing boat and a great way to see the river. Max 8 per big Canoe including children and babies under 4 years old.
Thelma: Introducing our beautifully restored, 16-seater rowing boat – perfect for large groups, parties, families, and team outings. With space for up to 4 people to row and 1 to steer, Thelma is ideal for an energetic adventure or a leisurely cruise along the River Avon.
