Welcome to Creation Indoor Climbing and Caving Centre, part of Creation Adventure Sports Ltd, the Midlands' biggest indoor climbing facility. The centre offers over 100 lines of top rope and lead climbing across 200 different routes ranging from grades 3+ to 7c. There is a dedicated kids-only bouldering area as well as a spacious 6,000 sq ft main bouldering room featuring hundreds of problems from VB to V9. Climbing and bouldering areas are divided into distinct zones to ensure crowding is never an issue. Whether you are new to climbing or a seasoned regular, the centre provides a wide variety of routes and problems to keep you challenged and entertained. Additional facilities include two autobelays, a training area, an abseil platform, and an extensive indoor caving system spanning three levels. An onsite café serves hot and cold food and drinks, complemented by a retail outlet, offering everything needed under one roof.

Climbing & Activity Sessions for Kids
- Taster Sessions (Ages 4+): Ideal for first-time climbers looking for a fun and adrenaline-filled introduction to the sport. Each session lasts one hour and includes climbing on walls ranging from 18 to 44 feet in height with various angles and surface types. A qualified instructor will guide the session, and all necessary equipment, including a helmet and harness, is provided. Participants should arrive in comfortable clothing and suitable footwear.
- Introduction to Climbing Course: It includes one two-hour session and two one-hour sessions. Participants will learn how to fit a harness correctly, tie into the rope using approved climbing knots, use a belay device safely, catch falls properly, and follow indoor climbing safety practices.
- Lead Climbing Course: Intended for experienced climbers who wish to advance their skills further. It includes training in lead climbing techniques, such as clipping, managing falls, and lead belaying.

Climbing Academy
- Youth Academy Session (Level 1 – Beginner Climber): The academy is divided into five progressive modules, each requiring a minimum time commitment and skill development before moving on to the next level.
- Mini Academy Session: These 90-minute sessions are held on weekend mornings and are tailored to suit the needs of younger participants. With a maximum instructor-to-child ratio of 1:6, these sessions provide a safe and encouraging introduction to climbing.
- Crag Rats Climbing Club: Sessions run every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30am to 12:30pm and are separated into ability levels. Each group has a maximum of six participants to ensure individual progress and focused instruction.
Holiday Activities
- Holiday Kids Climbing: During school holidays, the venue offers one-hour climbing sessions designed to keep children active and engaged. These sessions are open to children of various ages and provide a structured, fun environment for learning and climbing under the supervision of qualified instructors.
- NICAS Climbing & Bouldering: NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) includes both roped climbing and bouldering accreditation. NICAS focuses on skill development, climbing safety, and recognition of achievement on artificial climbing structures.
Bottom Rope Assessment:
Climbers between the ages of 12 and 17 can take a bottom rope assessment to determine whether they are ready to use the climbing centre independently. This evaluation checks their knowledge of safety practices, belaying techniques, and general competence. Passing the assessment allows them to climb without direct adult supervision.
Group Visits & Community Sessions:
- Scout Group Visits: The centre offers extensive facilities for Scout groups, with options for bouldering, roped climbing, and indoor caving. The venue can accommodate up to 80 people, subject to instructor availability. Facilities include over 150 bouldering problems, 300 climbing routes across 100 lines, and a 200-foot caving system.
