Peregrines Nursery
Peregrines Nursery School is a co-educational nursery at Falcons School for Girls situated in a leafy conservation area of South West London. The Nursery currently offers provision for children from the term they turn two up to the age of four. We are open from 7:30am-6:00pm every day for 50 weeks of the year and there are different attendance patterns available.Children’s happiness and wellbeing are at the forefront of what we do, and our nurturing environment allows pupils to develop confidence in their surroundings. This in turn results in a willingness to engage and learn, giving them the best educational start prior to their transition into Reception.
Prep School
At Falcons School for Girls they see all of our pupils develop their strengths to become truly independent learners. As they move through the school, they increasingly take responsibility in their studies and wider school life. Lessons prepare girls for success at 11+ through a balance of academic rigour and creativity. Every member of our Falcons family follows two simple rules, work hard and be kind.Girls enjoy lessons in all of the subjects you would expect to find at a preparatory school such as Mathematics, English, Science, Drama and Art as well as others you may not expect, for example Coding and Votes for Schools. The curriculum is further enhanced with a programme of trips and educational visits. As well as this we provide a rich extra-curricular programme that ranges from Street Dance to Yoga. Small classes, specialist teachers and a pupil leadership program ensures all girls flourish at Falcons.
Forest School
At Peregrines Nursery they are very fortunate to have our own onsite Forest School area, complete with a ‘Base Camp’ and Mud Kitchen. Forest School sessions take place weekly for pupils in Nursery to Year 2.Each week the children lead their own learning in a variety of activities creating a fun, stimulating journey of learning and self-discovery. The Forest School approach to learning is a holistic, hands-on opportunity to build skills, develop curiosity and foster self-awareness in a natural environment. Pupils develop their maths knowledge by sorting and comparing items in the woodland. They use their senses to locate and identify sounds while building dens – by far their favourite activity – provides a wonderful opportunity to support problem solving, foster teamwork and promote physical development.
Learning Support
At Falcons School for Girls, they are firmly committed to inclusivity and to giving every pupil the best possible education. They consider all children for admission to the school who have the ability and aptitude to access an academic curriculum. Pupils whose SEND are suited to the curriculum are welcome provided that we have the appropriate resources and facilities to provide them with the support that they require.
