Are you brave enough to try Basilisk Blood or Serpents Venom? The Potions Cauldron gives you the chance to mix your own magical potion and be a trainee wizard with our Phileas Phials.

Tucked away on the iconic and enchanting Shambles, you’ll discover York’s most magical gem - The Potions Cauldron. Stepping through our doors, you’ll enter a world of bubbling brews and potion-making adventures.
The Potions Academy: The Potions Class, Step into a world of magic with our magical Potions Class. This experience is suitable for witches and wizards of all ages and is led by our very own esteemed Potion Master. Throughout your 30-minute spellbinding experience, you’ll discover the secrets behind the legendary alchemist and wizard, Phileas Fry, all while learning to craft your own potion.
The Potions Express: The Potions Express is a magical welcome into York when you arrive by train at York Station, and is a great place to pick up gifts and to refuel with our wide range of potions, hot drinks and snacks! With a 5 Star welcome waiting!
Adult Potion Making Experience: Strictly for over 18’s, A time of great need is upon us so The Potions Academy has magically reappeared to ward off the threat of evil. Join our 'questionable' Potion Master who will impart their knowledge to shield you from dark magic as you brew enchanting potions with a potent twist.
The Potions Cauldron Outlet: The magic continues to spread! The Potions Cauldron is thrilled to announce the opening of our newest location, The Potions Cauldron Outlet at York Designer Outlet, this November. Following the enchanting success of our original Shambles potion shop, we’re bringing our spellbinding products to an all-new destination. Visitors to the Outlet will be able to enjoy our TikTok-famous wizard-style drinks, crafted to delight all magical folk.

The Rise of the Unicorn: This February half term, magic rises across The Potions Cauldron as The Rise of the Unicorn arrives from 14 February to 1 March 2026. Every 900 years, a rare cosmic event known as The Celestial Convergence takes place the moment when unicorn magic is at its most powerful. Under the Moon’s silver light, unicorns gather to renew their enchanted essence, sending waves of celestial energy back into the world to ensure wonder continues for another 900 years.
Explore the streets of York with this FREE Magical Trail: The Potions Smugglers Quest. Follow in the footsteps of legendary wizard and alchemist, Phileas Fry on the route he used to transport his magical potions, via a network of secret tunnels beneath the streets of York. If detected by authorities, he would likely be accused of witchcraft, but more importantly, he needed to avoid scrutiny from those who practice dark magic and wished to steal his potions for their own nefarious means.
