Features

  • Our Play Areas: The Children’s Play Village is for any child of any age that loves to play. Our role play areas have been thoughtfully and beautifully designed to appeal to children that are just toddling, confident and steady walking children right through to those children in primary school. We do not restrict the age of children exploring our play areas with enjoyment only stopping when your child no longer enjoy imaginative play. For babies and crawlers we have a dedicated separate area for safe play.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Play: We have been so fortunate to be able to find a venue that ticks all the boxes for indoor and outdoor play. The Children’s Play Village is set on its own secluded, secure spot which is home to the indoor role play village and an incredible 9 acres of fields for playing outdoors.  The outdoor play area will shortly be developed for ‘throw the doors open’ kind of days for those children who love to feel the wind on their face.

Facilities

Food & Drinks: Hot and cold drinks, light refreshments and children’s snacks are available.

What to see

Play Areas

  • Lotty’s Tea Room: Is it time for elevenses? Children who love to play cafes will have so much fun in Lotty’s Tea Room. With all of the charm of a quaint village tea room there are plenty of play props that will encourage your child’s imaginations to soar. Children can step into play character as a customer, peruse the menu or tempting cake cabinet and place their order at the counter. If your child loves to serve they can pop behind the counter to make up orders; or step into a the role of chef and cook all manner of delicious play food to keep the Tea Room on top of customer’s orders.
  • Orly’s Hair & Beauty Salon: Just a trim off the bottom? Orly’s Hair & Beauty Salon is a bustling play salon for all those children who just love to play hairdressers and show off their creative flair! Immersed in what feels like a real salon, your child can play endlessly enjoying some pamper time or they can free their creative side, throw on a hairdressers outfit, and play at being a hair stylist creating countless hairstyles on each other or one of the hairdressing mannequins.
  • The Village Post Office: Quick, last post is at 1pm! The Play Village has had a flurry of little villagers posting letters and parcels and we are in need of small people who can help sort through the backlog and deliver post around The Village on time. Before your child loads up their post bag, could you let them know that we need some help in the ‘sorting office’ organising the post so it arrives in the right place. We are also on the look out for enthusiastic, playful Post Office workers to serve customers who have some very important letters and parcels to post.
  • Village Theatre: Take the stage little performers, it’s all yours… The Village Theatre offers a wonderfully dramatic stage for children who love to perform, dance and sing. With dressing up outfits, musical instruments and all manner of theatre props this is truly a place for your child to release their inner performer and let their imaginations shine. Little actors and actresses, musicians, dancers and entertainers are all welcome to join the Alfie Corbett Spotlight Theatre School and bring this role play theatre alive with noise, laughter and fun. You better be quick, the box office hit shows are selling out as fast as hotcakes in Lotty’s Tea Room.
  • Village Supermarket: What shall we have for dinner? Decisions, decisions! The Play Village Supermarket has all the charm of a village farm shop with shelves stacked full of plump vibrant play fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh bread, cheese, meat and fish. Little shoppers can grab a wicker basket and leisurely peruse what to buy for dinner or perhaps a tasty picnic on the Village Green in the sunshine before making their way to the checkout counter. Did we say that we are looking for some playful little villagers to work on the supermarket checkout counter and help our Play Makers re-stock the shelves?
  • Construction Site: The Village Hall has fallen into a poor state and needs small hands to join the Aiden-Gleeson Construction Team to work on the repairs. No play village is complete without an area for all things construction. The Construction Team is looking for reliable, hardworking workmates to cut wood at the workbench and safely use tools. Don’t forget to remind your child to work safely with hard hats and tool belts. It can get a bit messy with brickwork and the cement mixer!
  • Village School: The Village School is play heaven for children who love to play teachers. Our teacher has taken some annual leave and we are really struggling for supply teachers. Can your child stand in and take a couple of classes? They will have to wear a teachers cap and gown so the other children know who they are though! From what we have seen the pupils really enjoy learning and concentrate well on playing at their school desks or reading in the school library.
  • Village Vets: Calling all aspiring vets! The Village Vets is a wonderful role play area for caring and nurturing little souls who take their responsibility to care for their poorly pets seriously. We have quite a few furry friends who need health checks on the examination bed, a lot of love and nursing back to good health. Can you also let your child know that we have a few pets that are a little rough around the edges and could do with some pampering fuss at the pet grooming station?
  • Village Emergency: Children who love playing doctors and nurses will be in their element at the heart of the action in the Village Emergency. The phone at the Village Emergency has been ringing off the hook these past couple of days for patients who need appointments. Can you ask your child if they can lend us a helping hand? We are short on doctors and nurses to assess and treat patients. We’ve had couple of emergencies brought in from the hardworking team of fire fighters and the waiting area is getting busier and busier.
  • Fire Station: Are there any little fire fighters out there who are ready for action and to save the day! There is an important job to do to help keep little villagers safe and out of harms way. We are looking for energetic little people to join The Fire Rescue and be ready for countless imaginary emergency missions. We need a team of reliable fire fighters ready to attend an emergency at the drop of a hat. They need to be focused and fast to get their fire suits and helmets on, grab their fire extinguishers and jump in the fire engine and drive to the scene.
