The Chester Eastgate Clock Treasure Trail is a self-guided outdoor adventure set in the historic city of Chester. It turns a walk through the city into a fun treasure hunt filled with puzzles and storytelling. The Trail is ideal for families, friends, and visitors who want to explore Chester in an interactive way.
The Trail follows a treasure hunt–themed walking route around Chester, taking in landmarks such as the Eastgate Clock, Roman walls, and city centre streets. Players solve sneaky clues hidden on existing buildings, permanent features, and monuments while following the story of a missing Roman gladiator’s hidden gold. The route is a 2-mile circular loop, takes around 2 hours, is suitable for ages 6–106, and includes a text message clue service if you get stuck, plus entry into a £100 monthly prize draw.
The Treasure Hunt Trail costs £9.99, with one Trail booklet suitable for 4–5 people taking part together. The Trail can be downloaded instantly or sent by post, and it can also be used for birthday parties, following the standard Treasure Trails format.
