Its chance discovery by Lord North, who was returning to London after a three month stay in the county, lead to the growth of Royal Tunbridge Wells and also the famous Pantiles.
  • High Rocks Station: The smallest however probably the most picturesque station on our line, built from scratch and opened in 1998 following the closure of the original halt in the 50s, serves the fantastic High Rocks themselves and the delightful Inn.
  • Groombridge Station: Groombridge is our principal intermediate station and you can alight here to visit this historic village. It is also possible to walk to Harrisons Rocks where you can see the trains passing by on days we’re operating to Eridge, and if cycling, to get to the Forest Way.
  • Eridge Station: Eridge makes the ideal starting point for a trip along the line. The station is clearly signposted off the A26 between Crowborough and Tunbridge Wells and has a 100 space car park. The car park operator icharges All Day Monday – Saturday/Sunday, it is ccheaper than town centre alternatives.

Facilities

  • Parking: The car park is to the side of the station, approximately 200 yards beyond the main building. There is also very limited (free) road parking in front of the station building.
  • Food & Drinks: Variety of on-train dining experiences throughout the year. These range from three-course evening or luncheon services aboard our High Weald Belle, to Afternoon Tea, to our extremely popular Fish & Chip Lunch or Supper trains.
  • Dogs: Most definitely! Well behaved dogs are welcome on the Spa Valley Railway, but please keep them on a lead at all times and do not allow them to sit on the seats. Unlike many other railways we make no charge for dogs, many of our volunteers bring their beloved dogs for a ride with us once or twice a year.
