Welcome to Rodbaston Animal Zone, located at Rodbaston College, is a licensed zoo and educational centre dedicated to animal care, conservation, and hands-on learning. Home to around 750 animals from over 150 different species including meerkats, monkeys, rabbits, and alpacasit offers visitors the chance to experience wildlife up close in a safe, family-friendly environment. The flat, accessible site features daily keeper talks, animal encounters, craft sessions, a tea room, and a small gift shop, making it an enjoyable and educational day out for all ages. Animals at the Animal Zone include primates, small mammals, paddocks, reptiles and amphibians, birds, and poultry.

Admission prices are £9.00 for adults, £6.00 for children and concessions, with free entry for under 3s. Junior and adult keeper experiences are also available at £60.00 per person. Animals: The Animal Zone, based at Rodbaston College, is home to around 750 animals representing over 150 different species from meerkats to monkeys and rabbits to alpacas. Includes: Primates, Small Mammals, Paddocks, Reptiles and Amphibians, Birds and Poultry.
Craft activities take place all day in craft room (this will be available from Easter).
Animal Encounters and Experiences
- Junior Keeper Experience: For ages 7–15, assist with feeding, cleaning, and caring for animals under keeper supervision.
- Adult Keeper Experience: For ages 16+, take part in daily keeper duties, enrichment, and animal handling.
- Lemur Encounter: Meet ring-tailed and other lemur species in a 30-minute feeding and talk session.
- Meerkat Encounter – Coming Soon!: Interact with meerkats Tilly, Mowgli, Maple, and Manuka in a guided experience.
- Reptile Encounter: Meet reptiles such as pythons, geckos, and iguanas during a feeding and educational session.

Birthday Party Details

Birthday Parties: Throw an animal-packed party at the Animal Zone. Celebrate your birthday or special event . Offer party packages to suit different needs and budgets, and pride ourselves on providing a fun, educational and value experience for all.
Your party package can include:
- Hire of a designated party area in Visitor Centre and admission to the Animal Zone for all party guests as well as 4 members of immediate family. Additional admission fees for other guests will apply. Price: £100.00 for 2.5 hours. Additional time for your party will cost a further £40.00 per hour.
- Hire one of our keepers for a 1-hour personalised animal encounter with either some of our fluffy or scaly animals. Price: £40.00 for 1 hour.
- Party food can be prepared and delivered to your party. Please click here for a sample food menu. Price: £6.00 per child.
- Additional extras are available on request including party hats, animal party masks and party bags. Price: Hats £0.35 per child, masks £0.75 per child, and bags £1.75 per child.
- Please note that our birthday parties require a minimum of 10 and maximum of 15 children.
