Description
Established in 1997, the objectives of Orcadia are to provide a safe, secure, enjoyable, friendly, stimulating and challenging environment for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and challenging behaviour by providing an opportunity to attend classes at the Centre and develop a wide range of skills whilst experiencing social interaction with their peers which in many instances they would not otherwise be able to do. We currently have around 200 students attending our in-depth programme of classes and activities at the Centre.

One to One Contact Sessions
Orcadia’s Contact Sessions take place in a safe, stimulating, relaxed and friendly environment. The aim of the programme is to extend the students sensory learning process into everyday life situations; to develop self-expression, build more positive self-identity and improve communication ability.
Adult Trampoline Sessions
Part of the Centre includes a trampoline room with 6 floor level trampolines, a bouncy castle and jukebox. This room is available for private parties, group bookings, and public sessions where anyone can come along and use the trampolines for an hour. Orcadia is a non profit making organisation, all profits go toward funding our programmes for children, young people and adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and challenging behaviour.
Creative Arts
Creative Arts is an exciting and innovative programme for young adults consisting of full or half day sessions covering arts & crafts subjects that include set design, painting, sculpture, animation, photography and filmmaking.
Group Sessions
Group sessions are an extension of the One to One Contact Programme aimed at students who feel able to work in a group environment enabling them to participate in a full range of creative activities including playing and listening to music, creating their own songs, painting, arts & crafts, animation, drama and movement, mask and puppet making.
