Northampton Museum and Art Gallery is now open after a major redevelopment project. Abington Park Museum is also open for visits. A service provided by West Northamptonshire Council, we have been serving the people of Northamptonshire for more than 150 years.
The museum recently won the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum’s ‘Heritage Organisation of the Year 2021’ award, for demonstrating innovation, creativity and problem solving. The entry demonstrated new digital engagement, new materials for future social historians and judges commended the team’s extremely hard work behind the scenes, while also maintaining the morale of volunteers throughout.

Northampton Museum and Art Gallery
The newly expanded museum will be the key cultural venue in Northampton providing engaging experiences for local people and visitors of all ages. The galleries showcase our collections including history, shoes and art. Our new shoe galleries feature our Arts Council England Designated collection. Temporary changing exhibitions will ensure that there is always something new to see. Facilities include a new cafe, shop and selling gallery.
