Mills Observatory is Britain’s first purpose-built public observatory, located on the summit of Balgay Hill in Dundee. It offers visitors the chance to explore the night sky using powerful telescopes in a peaceful woodland setting.
The observatory features a historic dome with multiple telescopes, where staff help visitors view stars, planets, constellations, and galaxies. Visitors can also enjoy the outdoor viewing platform with panoramic views across the River Tay and treetops, and attend Planetarium Show Nights with guided talks in the lecture room. Additional features include a shop selling astronomy gifts, NASA-branded items, stargazing guides, books, and toys.
General admission to Mills Observatory is FREE. Planetarium Show Nights are priced at £3.00 for adults and £1.50 for children.
