Facilities

  • Parking: A limited number of car parking spaces are available. The museum car park will be closed on Brentford FC home match fixture dates and other dates throughout the year for private events.
  • Food & Drinks: The museum café is currently closed due to a changeover. We are happy for picnics to be brought in while we make this transition. 
  • Toilets: There is an accessible toilet next to the shop and café.  Male and female toilets are available in the Steam Hall. We have baby changing facilities and potty training seats available in all our toilets. 
  • Dogs: Assistance dogs are welcome in all areas of the Museum.

What to see

  • Train Day: Sunday 29 March, Enjoy a ride on our small locomotive Thomas Wicksteed!
  • March Steam Up: Experience the golden-age of engineering at our Steam Up events as our historic engines come to life.
  • Model Steam Railway: The Association of 16mm Narrow Gauge Modellers are back at the Museum with their model steam trains. Come and enjoy the wonderful model trains in full steam on a purpose built track, learn all about how they work and watch them in action!
  • Easter Holidays: The Easter Bunny has visited the Museum and left eggs for you to find! Join us on an Easter Egg Hunt between 28 March - 12 April when we will be open daily.
  • Thames Tideway Tunnel Talk: Beneath the streets of London lies one of the UK’s most ambitious engineering projects: the Thames Tideway Tunnel.

Babcock Boiler Room Package: £200 + £50 cleaning deposit
Includes:

  • Exclusive use of the Babcock Boiler Room for up to 2 hours.
  • Access to the Museum before and after the party for setting up and clearing away.
  • Admission to the Museum for the party period for up to 20 children.
  • Free admission to the Museum for 5 supervising adults when a party person is age 5 or older, and 10 supervising adults when a party person is under the age of 5.
  • Use of children’s tables and chairs.
  • Self-catering: We are happy for you to provide your own catering. There are no preparation facilities on-site, and the Museum cannot provide cutlery or crockery, but a sink and a small fridge are available for the party.
