The Jeppe Hein: Appearing Rooms is a playful outdoor art installation that combines water, architecture, and technology. Located at the Southbank Centre, it creates temporary “rooms” using jets of water that appear and disappear. It is a fun and refreshing experience, especially popular during the summer months.
Visitors can walk through shifting water walls that form different shapes and spaces, creating an interactive and immersive environment. Activities include running through the water jets, exploring changing patterns, and enjoying a unique blend of art and play. The installation offers a sensory experience where timing and movement create ever-changing “rooms” of water.
There is no charge for entry, making it a completely free attraction for visitors.
The experience offers a joyful mix of art, fun, and creativity in a public space. With its interactive design and refreshing atmosphere, it appeals to both children and adults. It is a great place to cool off, have fun, and enjoy a unique artistic experience.
