Features

  • Heritage trails: See Horsham District's history first-hand with our self-guided heritage trails. Each trail is dedicated to a different area of the District and includes sites of special interest and stories from all eras of the area's past. The trails project is supported by Horsham District Community Partnerships Forum and The National Lottery Heritage Fund, and local history societies.
  • Collections: Horsham Museum & Art Gallery has been collecting objects relating to Horsham and the wider District since 1893. Many of the items are on display in the museum's galleries, others are held in our stores. The museum catalogues items in the collections to the nationally agreed SPECTRUM standard. We are currently working on a back-cataloguing project, making our collections more easily accessible to all.
  • Archaeological finds: Have you found an item that you'd like to learn more about? We have regular events where a Finds Liaison Officer (FLO) visits the museum to identify and record objects, including any that do not come from archaeological excavations.
  • Research: We have a range of maps, sales particulars, local directories, local history books and photographs that may be helpful in conducting family or local history research and can be accessed by appointment only. If objects are in a fragile condition then they may not be available for viewing.
