Pottery Wheel: Throwing brings with it messy laughter filled fun, the magical transformation from mud to creation, it’s easy to get hooked! We offer flexible learning tailored to you. If you would like to try the wheel as part of a wider initial pottery learning experience please view our clay experience course. Wheel sessions are available Friday and Saturday 2:30 – 5:30pm as standard. (Out of hours sessions are available where staffing and event timetables allow).
Hand Building Sessions: Clay is beautifully tactile and Building skills engage you with this to the max, the techniques learned allow you to create pretty much anything your imagination can come up with! If you are new to clay we will provide a short introductory tutorial to get you started and offer pop over guidance to help you along the way. If you have hand building experience you can book this session to access the studio equipment with a potter on hand to support you.
Glaze Sessions: Having created your pottery on the wheels or by hand you are welcome to book into our general sessions 10-2:30 Friday – Sunday for a 2hr table to glaze, we charge by the pot or by the kiln shelf (depending on the size and number of your creations). We stock brush on glazes and clear dipping glaze, we offer a broad selection that cover a wide range of earthenware and stoneware clays.
Pottery Painting: Paint with us in the studio or at home using our takeaway kits and online shop, or ask us to come to you. Choose from our wide range of pre-made pottery (known as bisque) and receive a tutorial, tailored to age, ability and experience, in how to use ceramic glazes and our great range of brushes and tools. Enjoy getting creative its fun, relaxing and simple – the perfect switch off and great for any age or ability – all are welcome at Firefly.

Firefly is situated next to a sweet shop and opposite a library on a vibrant stretch of shops and restaurants which has two hour parking bays along it’s length and car parks within easy walking distance. The train station and airport are also just a skip and hop away.
