It offers a mix of history, hands-on activities, shopping, and family fun all in one place. With FREE parking and entry, it is a welcoming destination for visitors of all ages.

Visitors can explore The Tolgus Exhibition, a FREE interactive exhibition set over 10,000 sq. foot, showcasing Cornwall’s rich tin milling history with artefacts and working machines. Families can enjoy Free Panning For Gold, Create & Paint Pottery (prices start from £6), The Bear Works, Pick A Diamond, the Dress Up Station, and explore Cornwall’s last remaining tin mill. The site also features an award-winning Pantry serving homemade food and Cornish cream teas.

Entry is Free, with FREE parking available. Pottery painting prices start from £6, while many activities including The Tolgus Exhibition and Free Panning For Gold are included with free entry.

The Tolgus Exhibition: Discover all about the history of Cornish tin milling with untold stories, unique footage, interactive displays and so much more. Our FREE interactive exhibition is set out over 10,000 sq. foot. This is where Cornwall’s rich milling history is brought to life in an exciting way, right in the heart of Cornwall. Entry into Cornwall Gold is free and there is no need to book.
Free Panning For Gold: Sift sand with a traditional gold pan to reveal gems and hidden treasures. This fun family activity is great for all ages and undercover.
Create & Paint Pottery: Pottery painting is fun for everyone, young and old alike. We will glaze and fire your masterpiece, or you can paint and take it home the same day. Prices start from £6.
The Bear Works: Choose and make your new furry friend. Pick out an outfit and add a voice box, add a secret wish star, and then create your new friend’s birth certificate.
Dress Up Station: Dress up as a tin mill or ball maiden in our exhibition area, where you can imagine what it would have been like to work in a tin mill!
Interactive Exhibition: Step into the fascinating world of Cornwall’s tin milling past! Discover untold stories, rare artefacts, and the machines that shaped a legendary industry.
PorthtowAn Beach: Porthtowan is a beautiful family-friendly beach a short drive from us. It’s our favourite place for a refreshing walk with the chance of spotting seals or dolphins or even a basking shark! Plus, you can stop off at our award-winning Pantry on the way there, or back, for a spot of homemade lunch!
Explore Tehidy Woods: Just around the corner from Cornwall Gold are the beautiful Tehidy Woods. With over 9 miles of paths and 250 acres of peaceful woods, waterfalls and lakes, home to swans and lots of wildlife, to explore – it’s a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the great outdoors.
The Tolgus Trail: The Tolgus Trail is 2.2 miles long and is best started at the beautiful Portreath beach where you can walk for an hour to reach Cornwall Gold. Here you can enjoy some homemade food or afternoon tea in our Cornish Pantry, discover our jewellery showroom and go inside Cornwall’s last remaining tin mill – all before a lovely walk back to Portreath.
Pick A Diamond: Come and discover our latest activity where you can be in with a chance of finding a £200 diamond! Simply pick out a gem from our glass pyramid and find out if it’s a dazzling cubic zirconia or a diamond. Then, choose an optional setting or box to take home and treasure what you found. A truly unique experience the whole family will enjoy!
