Cheshire Falconry offers exciting hands-on experiences with birds of prey, located within Blakemere Village Craft Centre. It provides a unique opportunity to get up close and personal with owls, hawks, falcons, and eagles, guided by expert falconers. The centre is open daily from 10am to 4pm, except on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year’s Day.

Visitors can enjoy immersive experiences like “Meet the Birds,” “Junior Owl Experience,” “Family Falconry,” and the “Owl Encounter.” The aviary area showcases trained raptors relaxing on weathering lawns, and children can fly their first owl with calm and friendly species.   • Meet The Birds: Be amazed as you get hands-on and fly a variety of birds of prey! In our three hour session you will be flying different species of birds of prey. A remarkable experience you will never forget!
  • Aviary: The raptor housing area is divided into two sections. Firstly we have our weathering lawn where trained birds of prey are placed on perches in order to sun themselves (depending on the weather), bathe and relax.
  • Family Falcony: As a family you will get to fly a small range of our birds of prey in a completely hands-on experience, whilst one of our knowledgeable falconers entertains and educates you with information about each bird. 
  • Junior Owl Experience: Our Junior Owl Experience utilises the most calm and tolerant birds of prey in our collection to give children a fantastic encounter as they fly an owl for the first time. There are several species of owl in our collection at the falconry centre, including the largest species in the world, the European eagle owl.
  • Owl Encounter: A very unique experience for all grown up owl fans! Get hands-on and fly a variety of beautiful owls from amongst the smallest to the largest. Owls are one of the most enigmatic groups of animals in the world and they stir great passion in those that admire them.
