Burley Detective Mystery Trail is a self-guided outdoor adventure that turns the village of Burley in the New Forest into a fun, story-led detective mystery. Set in a place famous for witches, folklore, and old-world charm, it blends sightseeing with puzzle-solving and imaginative storytelling. The Trail is suitable for families, friends, and visitors aged 6–106, and can be completed at your own pace.
This is a detective mystery–themed walking Trail where you help Chief Inspector Abby Kerdabra of the Bureau of Bad Magic track down a wicked witch or warlock. You’ll explore thatched cottages, Tudor inns, historic buildings, permanent features, and village monuments, solving clues hidden along the route. The Trail is a 1.5-mile circular loop, takes around 2 hours, includes a text message clue service if you get stuck, and all successful teams are entered into a £100 monthly prize draw.
The Treasure Trail costs £9.99, which covers one Trail for a group playing together. The Trail can be downloaded instantly or received by post, and it can also be used for birthday parties, working best in small teams of around 4–5 people.
