What to see

The site’s car park is popular all day long with people coming to enjoy the views that span the Medway Valley and to take a break at the picnic area. There are a diverse number of rare plant species at the site – bulbous buttercup, salad burnet, hairy violet, meadow velching, false brome grass, bee orchid, wood sage and wild strawberry are all found in the area. The rich plantlife supports a variety of insects, such as dingy skipper; grizzled skipper; chalk hill blue and brown argus butterflies. The North Downs Way passes along the northern edge of the site, giving further opportunities to explore the Downs.
