The estate features the Jacobean House with its Long Gallery and nationally important book collection, a 55-acre formal garden with ancient yews, parterre, lake, and productive walled kitchen garden, and vast parkland, woodland, and farmland. Visitors can explore the RAF Oulton Museum, stay in one of seven holiday cottages, and enjoy multiple way-marked routes including the Blickling Estate multi-use trail, Lake Walk, RAF Walk, Mausoleum Walk, Calthorpe & Great Wood walk, full Estate walk, and the Blickling Ranger Run. Facilities include cafés, picnic areas, a plant shop, gift shop, car parks, and scenic walking and cycling routes across the estate.

Holiday cottages: Stay in one of seven characterful holiday cottages. Packed with charm and atmosphere, and sleeping up to eight, options include a traditional thatched cottage and the iconic tower with stunning views over the parkland.

Facilities

Parking: We have four car parks across the Blickling Estate with a charge of £5 per day for non-members. Cycle parking is located in the main car park and inside the farmyard.
Food & Drinks: The Stables and Muddy Boots cafés are open with indoor and outdoor seating.
Picnic area: Picnic benches can be found in the Garden under and around the stretch tent, in the Farmyard and near the Estate Barn visitor welcome near the main car park. You're welcome to bring a picnic blanket and find a spot to eat surrounded by nature.
Plant shop: A selection of seasonal plants can be seen on the main drive and are available to purchase from the shop.
Pub: The Bucks Arms is a seventeenth century traditional pub and former coaching inn on the walk down from the main car park to the house (not National Trust).
Shop: Shop with seasonal peat-free potted plants, gifts, homeware, books and gardening accessories.
Toilets: Toilets with Baby changing available.

Top Trails

Blickling Estate multi-use trail: Enjoy a fun walk or cycle around the perimeter of Blickling Park, near Aylsham, Norfolk. This multi-use trail – perfect for walkers, pushchairs, adapted wheelchair users and cyclists – is ideal for all-weather use with a hard surface, and takes you through woods and open land. Visit the Tower, Great Wood and Mausoleum as you explore.
Blickling lake walk: A tranquil walk around Blickling Park and lake, keeping the formal garden and Jacobean House in view. Visiting the Mount, Ha-ha, Doric Temple and Orangery, with gentle slopes, woods, open fields, frequent seats and breathtaking views, the lake walk is a walk for the 'not so energetic'. Ideal for families.
Blickling Estate RAF Walk: Requisitioned by the War Office in 1940, Blickling Estate provided valuable accommodation to men and women of all ranks who served at nearby RAF Oulton during the Second World War. Walk in their footsteps to see all their major billeting sites at Blickling. There are no steep slopes making this an ideal walk for all abilities. After your walk you can visit the RAF Oulton museum located in the east wing near the house to learn more about the stories of the men and women who served at Blickling.
Blickling mausoleum walk: Enjoy a historical stroll around part of Blickling Park, through woods and open land, leading you to the impressive Mausoleum in Blickling Great Wood. With a firm surface and plenty of places to sit on the route, this is a great walk for all abilities.
Blickling, Calthorpe and Great Wood walk: This long circular walk around Blickling takes in the villages of Calthorpe and Erpingham and the estate’s Great Wood. Along the way, look out for striking architecture including Blickling Mill, the Tower, the Mausoleum and the 'Chinese' bridge.
Blickling Estate walk: Enjoy a great walk around most of the Blickling Estate's parkland. Visit points of local historical interest including Long Plantation, Great Wood, the Tower, Brickyard and Mausoleum.
Blickling Ranger Run: Set in Norfolk's beautiful Bure meadows, this trail run offers sweeping views of the Jacobean mansion at Blickling, surrounded by an inspiring landscape of 4,600 acres of parkland, woods and fields. Visit in spring to see the woods carpeted with bluebells.

By Car: The Estate is on Blickling Road (old B1354, reclassified to C593), signposted from the A140 Norwich/Cromer.
Cycling: Blickling Estate is reachable on two wheels via several scenic cycle paths, including the Rebellion Way, the Weaver’s Way cycle route from North Walsham to Aylsham, and the Bure Valley cycle route from Wroxham to Aylsham, as well as the Marriotts Way between Norwich and Aylsham.
By Bus: Sanders Coaches Services 43, 44, 44A, X44 available from Norwich to Aylsham, 2 miles from Blickling Estate. A Sunbeam 1A bus service runs on Mondays and Fridays* direct from Aylsham Market Place to Blickling Estate. The service departs Aylsham at 10.10am and 11.40am. The return journey departs outside the Hall at 11.50am, 1.28pm and 4.08pm. [*excluding bank holidays]
By Train: Take the Bure Valley Railway from Hoveton & Wroxham station to Aylsham, 2 miles away from Blickling Estate.
