Bankside Gallery is the home of the Royal Watercolour Society (RWS), and the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers (RE). Its vibrant exhibitions celebrate the very best in contemporary water-based media and original print, championing the work of both new and established artists.
For over 40 years Bankside Gallery has played a crucial role in displaying and promoting work on paper; exploring its boundaries while supporting education activities organised by the RWS and RE.
Opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in 1980, Bankside Gallery is a registered educational charity, number 293194 and receives no government funding.

Venue Hire on London’s South Bank: Situated on the Thames Path, directly in between the Tate Modern and Blackfriars station, Bankside Gallery attracts over 55,000 visitors a year. The Gallery is cool and spacious, and the perfect space for a wide range of solo and group shows, drinks receptions, networking events and more.
Exhibition Hire
If your main focus is showing artwork, we offer dedicated gallery hire in London for solo and group exhibitions. Our central exhibition space hire in London provides a professional setting for artists, collectives and organisations.
Evening event hire: The standard hire charge is £325 + VAT per hour.
